Community & Vocational Service - The Heartbeat of Rotary
Amwell Rotary Club supports various Community Service initiatives each year. These range from ongoing commitments to local self help groups through to new commitments aimed at giving help and assistance to those in any kind of need in our local communities.
Each year we take part in Kids Out Day, a national initiative that brings together Rotary Clubs from around the country to provide a great day out for disadvantaged and special needs children. Scroll down for a link to more details
In partnership with our colleague from some of the other local Rotary Clubs, we also regularly support Blood Pressure awareness events where people are encouraged to have their blood pressure checked for free by a health professional. Any potential problems can thus be highlighted and further checks recommended.
Future Plans and Fundraising Activities
The Rotary Year runs from July 1st to June 30th and we have numerous activities planned for Rotary year ahead.
In all that we do, we remain extremely grateful for the continued help and support we receive from a great many members of the public.
Our sincere thanks to you all!
World Environment Day, June 5th, 2021
The five local Rotary Clubs in the Lea Valley Group marked World Environment Day 2021 by organising a litter pick along the River Lea from Hertford up to Cheshunt.
The weather was glorious and it was great to be out and about, doing our bit for the environment!
Kids Out Day
Many thousands of disadvantaged and special needs children get to enjoy a fantastic day out as they join in the fun of the Annual Rotary Kids Out Day, organised by Rotarians from hundreds of clubs across Great Britain and Ireland.
