The President's Away Break
The most recent President's Away Days were held in Winchester with Club member Alan P. organising another excellent break for a good number of Amwell Rotary members and partners.
The fellowship began with afternoon tea and a guided tour of Houghton Lodge Gardens on the Sunday afternoon before a short drive to Winchester and dinner at the hotel.
A guided tour of Winchester was arranged for Monday morning to take in the magnificent Cathedral, one of the finest medieval churches in Europe, as well as a visit to the Great Hall, home of the legendary Round Table. The afternoon was left free for exploring the city before a black-tie dinner that evening – with several members briefly visiting Winchester Rotary Clubs meeting on the way.
The break was rounded off the following day with a visit to the Jane Austen’s House & Museum at Chawton followed by a light lunch in the Great Hall at Chawton House.
